White rose classic, Sunday 25 June

Keighley and Richmond RAYNET will be providing radio safety cover for White Rose Classic. White Rose Classic is considered a premier road cycling sportive in the North. Re-established in 2012 by the newly re-formed Ilkley Cycling Club, this sell-out, 1000 rider event aims to provide a challenging day out through some of the most spectacular Yorkshire Dales scenery – taking in some of its classic (read toughest) climbs! With three routes to choose from, the event provides for differing levels of ability and experience. Whether you are a whippet-like club rider looking for a gold standard time, or want a more leisurely, but challenging, day out in the saddle, the White Rose Classic has something for you.The White Rose Classic is organised and run by volunteers from Ilkley Cycling Club in conjunction with British Cycling. Profit from your entry fee goes towards promoting local grass-roots cycling initiatives, including a very active youth-development programme, as well as encouraging more men and women to ride bikes as per our club motto, From Recreation to Racing.

Etape du Dales, Sunday 14 May

Keighley and Richmond RAYNET will be providing radio safety cover for the Etape du Dales

A classic event taking in some of the iconic climbs in the Yorkshire Dales, the “Etape du Dales” was established well before Yorkshire was chosen to host the 2014 Tour de France.

With a height gain equivalent to a Tour mountain stage the Etape du Dales figures on most riders list of “must do rides”, even if only once! So, why not come and try your radio skills over some of the country’s most challenging terrain.

Covering 112 miles in the Yorkshire Dales the Etape du Dales sportive starts and finishes in Threshfield, near Grassington.

The Great Yorkshire Bike Ride – Saturday 17 June

Richmond RAYNET & Keighley RAYNET will be providing engineering services to the St John Ambulance on Saturday 17 June for The Great Yorkshire Bike Ride

The Great Yorkshire Bike Ride is an annual 70 mile sponsored charity cycle ride from Wetherby to Filey. This ride takes in some of Yorkshire best countryside through the Howardian Hills and the Yorkshire Wolds to the coast.

Camping and caravanning weekend – 30th June to 2nd July

Keighley Amateur Radio Society and Keighley RAYNET are planning a weekends camping and caravanning at the Knight Stainforth Hall Caravan and Camping Park, this weekend will start on Friday 30th June. All are welcome to attend, it is open to any one interested in amateur radio or RAYNET. We intend to book the Rally Field for this weekend, so you need to book your place ASAP.

Le Petit Depart – Sunday 4th June

Keighley and Richmond RAYNET will be providing radio safety cover for the Le Petit Depart.

This route is 80 miles & follows much of the Tour de France stage 1 taking you over 3 climbs and along 6 dales. From the head of Wharfedale the route goes over Kidstones, the first official climb of the 2014 Tour de France. It continues along the Stage 1 route, returning to Skipton via the impressive Ribblehead viaduct, the quaint market town of Settle and the lovely Malhamdale.

Keighley RAYNET – Three Peaks Fell Race, 29 April

Keighley and Richmond RAYNET will be providing radio safety cover for the Three Peaks Fell Race on 29th April 2017.
Event control will be in Horton-in-Ribblesdale and Brian Dooks G0RHI will be the event coordinator for RAYNET. We will need 35+ radio operators for this event, with most of the operators out on the fells.
